Hello! I have a 1-year-old female kitten that I will be introducing to two older male cats. She has been spayed so I'm not worried about heat. I have been doing research and everything tells me how to introduce an old cat to a new cat, but I can't find anything involving 3 cats. Is it okay to introduce them together? Or would it be better separately? Any advice?
Hi Emily
Congratulations on your recent adoption.
Based on my experience providing cat consultations for kitten-cat introductions for many years, it must be done separately. Likewise, I have just finished introducing a 3-month-old kitten to two resident cats who are ten years old. It took us about four months for the cats to get along. It's essential to introduce the new kitten to each resident cat separately. Please feel free to contact me again if you need further assistance. Remember, it's crucial to follow each step of the introduction process slowly and steadily to ensure harmonious living in your household. Patience and understanding are key in this gradual process.
All the best
Melina
One of the Older cats in 5 years old and the other is 2-3 years old.
