Dublin and Dizzy have transformed their family with love, mischief, and their unique personalities.
Dizzy, the Sweet and Spicy Queen
In Michigan, one family’s life was forever changed when they decided to adopt two rescue kittens with boundless character. Shannon Tindall, mom to Dizzy and Dublin, recalls the moment she met them. “I was working at my old job, and they featured a pet of the week from different shelters or rescues,” she said. One week, a sweet grey cat named Dizzy caught Shannon’s eye. Dizzy had been hit by a car in Detroit, breaking her pelvis, but she survived and was longing for a loving home. Despite her resilience, weeks passed without any adoption inquiries. Shannon felt compelled to meet her.
The first thing Shannon noticed was Dizzy’s crossed eyes, possibly from birth or due to the accident. Dizzy adored attention and cuddles but strictly on her terms. “Dizzy is very sweet and spicy. She loves attention until she’s done with it,” Shannon noted. “She’s very food motivated. I often catch her going through chips or cereal. With a toddler in the house dropping food, we always have to make sure everything is put away.” It was clear that Dizzy was a perfect addition to the family, so Shannon adopted her and brought her home. However, Shannon still felt something was missing.
Dublin, the Lovable Stalker
One day at work, Shannon received a call about a ginger and white cat named Dublin. “He came from a rescue in Pontiac,” Shannon shared. “He was a year old when his family surrendered him due to a spraying problem.” Despite his past, Shannon fell in love with Dublin instantly, and he quickly settled into their home. “After the rescue trained it out of him, he never did that in our house,” Shannon said.
Dublin soon became a bit of a stalker, following Shannon and her family everywhere. “He’s like a stalker,” Shannon laughed. “He really completes our family. He’s just a character.” Dublin’s love for Shannon and her husband is so intense that he wakes them up every morning with his antics. He opens the door, causing the dogs to bark, then jumps onto the blinds and shakes them, adding to the morning chaos. “They wake us up every morning!” Shannon exclaimed.
Dublin Bonds With the Family
Despite his attachment to Shannon, Dublin has also formed a close bond with Shannon’s son, Landon. “They go off and cause mayhem together,” Shannon said. Their favorite activity is gathering all the toys and throwing them across the room. Landon throws the toys, and Dublin chases them. “They love it; they’re little BFFs,” Shannon said.
Dizzy, too, has been affected by Dublin’s presence. He has brought out a new, adventurous side of her that Shannon had never seen before. Dizzy, inspired by Dublin’s energetic nature, started to mimic his climbing and exploring. Shannon delightedly watched Dizzy find a new zest for life, exercising and exploring with Dublin.
Dublin and Dizzy have profoundly changed the Tindall household, bringing endless love and laughter to their family. Queen Dizzy adds joy and sass, while Dublin brings energy and chaos. The Tindalls wouldn’t have it any other way.
